According to a recent evaluation, Zhejiang University’s academic programs in Power Engineering and EngineeringThermophysics have been considered “outstanding” by international standards.
The highly strict evaluation took place in ZJU’s College of Energy Engineering from March 24 to 26. Five authoritative experts from world’s leading universities were invited to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the degree programs in Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics offered by the College.

The evaluation committee concluded that the programs have reached an “exceptionally high level” both in China and around the world, after rounds of document review, seminars, meetings, lab visits and talks with faculty and students.
In a final report announced on March 26, experts said they were highly impressed by the excellent talent the College had nurtured, the strong recognition among faculty and students and their shared vision for the College’s future.
According to the report, ZJU’s disciplinary areas of Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics have made remarkable contributions in addressing global energy and environmental problems, strengthening university-industry cooperation, and producing high-caliber talent through a diverse array of educational programs.

“We will think over the expert’s comments and suggestions and try to address them by proposing an improvement plan.” said ZJU Vice President YAN Jianhua, “The plan will then be fed back to the evaluation committee, and we look forward to the committee’s continued support and guidance for our future endeavors.”
