Recently, 2020 Zhejiang Westlake Friendship Award was announced. Guest Prof. Marcus Aldén from the College of Energy Engineering was honored with the award for his dedication to laser diagnostic technique developed for combustion.

Academician Marcus Aldén is a member of both Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences and the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, a recipient of Akzo Nobel Nordic Science Prize. He has been appointed as Guest Professor at the College of Energy Engineering, Zhejiang University since April 2011, and is currently the Head of the Division of Combustion Physics at Lund University, Sweden.

As an international advisor of the State Key Laboratory of Clean Energy Utilization and an academic master of the Innovation and Talent Introduction Base of Clean Energy Utilization in Zhejiang University, Academician Aldén has made important contributions to the development of laser diagnostic technology and energy utilization technology.
