The Fifth China-U.S. CO2 Emission Control Technology ConferenceHeld in Hangzhou

On June 6th, 2016, the Fifth China-U.S. CO2 emission control technology conference by Department of energy of the United States, Ministry of science and technology and Ministry of education of China, co-sponsored by Zhejiang University and University of Wyoming, and assisted by China University of Petroleum solemnly opened at Hangzhou World Trade Junnan Hotel. More than one hundred experts and scholars from China and U.S. took part in the meeting. Zhang Hongjian, vice president of Zhejiang University, and Scott Smouse, the Department of energy of U.S., attended the opening ceremony and delivered their speeches.
Vice President Zhang Hongjian expressed his warm welcome to the guests, and pointed out that the China-U.S. CO2 emission control technology seminar is an important academic conference in the field of CO2 emission control technology.
China and the United States as the world's two largest emitter of CO2, their cooperation in the field will make an important influence in the control of carbon emissions, and will also benefit the future generations.
Professor Luo Zhongyang and Mark Northam introduced the development process of China-US CO2 emission control technology seminar, and expressed their sincere gratitude and warm welcome to the experts and scholars.
The main purpose of this meeting is to discuss the basic and applied research progress in the field of CO2 emission reduction technology in China and the United States in recent years and the technological innovations in this area.
Over a period of 2 days, it is reported that the meeting themes are mainly about the CO2 capture, storage and utilization (CCUS) projects and international cooperation; advanced CO2 capture technology; CO2 utilization technology and CO2 conversion technology; CO2 geologic sequestration technology; measurement, monitoring and verification of CO2 emission control; policies and regulations and development and experience of carbon market and so forth.
