August 25th, 2011, associate professor Ke Tang of our department was declared the winner of the 2011 Carl von Linde Award by the International Institute of Refrigeration, during the 23th International Refrigeration Conference held in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. Didier Coulomb, director of the Institute issued professor Tang the certificate.
Carl von Linde Award is named after Carl von Linde, renowned German scientist in the field of refrigeration and cryogenics engineering, pioneer of air separation through liquefaction. This award is one of the prizes that International Institute of Refrigeration issues to honor those youth researchers (aged under 35), who make great contributions in the research area of cryogenics engineering. Dr. Ke Tang is a student of the famous expert of cryogenics Prof. Guobang Chen. He engaged himself in the research of thermoacoustic refrigeration, novel low-frequency large-amplitude thermoacoustic engines and heat transfer of oscillating flow, and accomplished universally recognized achievements. To honor Dr. Tang for his outstanding works, technological council of International Institute of Refrigeration issued him this award.
